The group also joined its national counterpart urging President Donald Trump to reconsider whether Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. is fit to serve because it charges that he has ignored or downplayed scientific evidence about matters of public health.

“To remain true to our mission, we no longer can remain silent,” the group said.

Legislators have submitted one bill request for the 2026 session that would repeal some child immunization mandates and another to remove Hepatitis B from the list of diseases for which immunization is required.

“These proposals mirror, in some cases exactly, the dicta of Secretary Kennedy and his hand-picked appointees,” the group said.
