Travis Kelce on Taylor Swift Proposal:

Travis Kelce Opens Up About Proposing to Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, recently shared details about his proposal to pop superstar Taylor Swift. In an interview, Kelce revealed his emotions leading up to the big moment, and a friend divulged more about when Kelce first shared his plans.

Kelce's "Sweaty Palms" and Emotional Journey

Speaking with Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews, Kelce admitted to feeling nervous before popping the question. “I’m an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there,” he said, adding, “But it’s been an exciting ride up until this day, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.” He also credited Swift with bringing "excitement and a joy for life that has made me a better man, made me a better person." Andrews might have even played a part in the couple's initial connection, having encouraged Swift to date Kelce on her podcast before they became a couple.

Friend Andrew Santino Reveals When Kelce First Shared Proposal Plans

Comedian Andrew Santino revealed that Kelce told him about his plans to propose to Swift as early as April or May. "We had golf together in like April or May, and yeah, he said he was doing it," Santino said on the Pardon My Take podcast. Santino also noted that the engagement "happened much earlier" than the public announcement on August 26th. Although he contacted the couple to congratulate them, Santino admitted he "highly doubts" he will be invited to the wedding.

Kelce Focused on Upcoming Game Against the Eagles

Despite the joyous news of his engagement, Kelce remains focused on his football career. Andrews also questioned Kelce about the Chiefs' upcoming game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Following a season-opening loss, Kelce emphasized the need for leadership and self-reflection within the team. "I think the leaders on this team need to step up, and I’ll be the first one to raise my hand and say that I’m the guy that needs to be that for us," Kelce stated.
