At the hearing, prosecutors and defence lawyers were each given 20 minutes to present their arguments. Lawyers for Combs argued that he should have his conviction overturned because the federal law that prohibits transportation for the purposes of prostitution should "only be applied to pimping" and Combs "was only an alleged consumer”.
