Twice's Jeongyeon Misses Bulacan Concert, Future Singapore and Malaysia Shows Uncertain Due to Health

Twice's Jeongyeon's Status Uncertain for Singapore and Malaysia Concerts

Jeongyeon, a member of the popular South Korean girl group Twice, may not participate in the group's upcoming world tour stops in Singapore and Malaysia. This follows her recent absence from the concert in the Philippines, raising concerns among fans. The Singapore concerts are scheduled for October 11th and 12th.

JYP Entertainment's Statement

JYP Entertainment, Twice's agency, addressed the situation on October 3rd, stating, "We cannot confirm whether Jeongyeon will appear at the Singaporean and Malaysian shows. What we can say for sure at the moment is that she will not be performing at the Bulacan show." This announcement followed a previous statement on the group's fan platform on October 2nd confirming her withdrawal from the Twice 'This is For' World Tour Bulacan concert, which was scheduled for October 4th.

"We sincerely apologise to fans who have been waiting for the concert for a long time. This was an unavoidable decision made with the artist’s health and recovery as our top priority," JYP Entertainment said.

Jeongyeon's Recent Activity and Health History

Before her recent absence, Jeongyeon had been actively participating in Twice's sixth world tour, which began in Seoul on July 19th. She performed in four Japanese cities and most recently in Macau on September 27th and 28th. The sudden announcement of her absence just a week after the Macau shows has understandably worried fans.

Recurring Health Challenges

Jeongyeon has been open about her past health issues. In 2020, she underwent surgery for a herniated disc. In 2021, she took a hiatus after being diagnosed with a panic disorder. While she returned to the group in June 2022, she subsequently took another short break due to side effects from steroid treatment and recurring panic attack symptoms.

Surgery for Herniated Disc 2020 Required medical intervention.
Hiatus for Panic Disorder 2021 Pause in activities due to mental health.
Return to the Group June 2022 Resumption of activities.
