Patriotic Alliance's Kenny Kunene Returns to Johannesburg Council Amidst Ethics Controversy

Patriotic Alliance deputy leader Kenny Kunene has once again been sworn in as a councillor in the Johannesburg City Council.

This comes after his resignation two months ago, when he was found at the scene of the arrest of Katiso “KT” Molefe - who is accused of orchestrating the murder of Oupa Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody.

At the time, Kunene claimed he was at Molefe’s home to accompany a journalist from his online news agency for an exclusive interview.

The Patriotic Alliance initially suspended him but later reinstated him after an external law firm cleared him of any wrongdoing.

Johannesburg Council Speaker Margaret Arnolds presided over his swearing-in.

“Kenny Kunene has been sworn in as councillor. He was on his party’s list and was sworn in as a councillor today.”
