The Nolans to Reunite for Emotional Cancer Charity Concert Following Sister Linda's Death

The Nolans Reunite for Cancer Charity Concert in Honor of Linda Nolan

Sisters Denise, Maureen, and Anne Nolan are reuniting for a special concert to raise money for cancer charities. This marks their first public performance since the passing of their sister, Linda Nolan, who died in January after battling cancer. The concert will take place on October 4th at Sheffield City Hall.

A Tribute to Linda and Bernie Nolan

The concert, titled "Simply The Best," is a fundraiser for Weston Park Cancer Charity and BB With Love. It is organized by the family of the late Bev Croke. The event aims to honor Linda's memory and raise vital funds for cancer research and support, a cause deeply personal to the Nolan sisters as several of them have battled the disease. Linda Nolan long campaigned for breast cancer awareness during her life.

The group, originally formed in Blackpool in 1974 as The Nolan Sisters, saw sisters Linda, Denise, Bernie, Maureen, and Anne achieve fame in the late 1970s and early 80s. Younger sister Coleen joined later. Tragically, both Linda and Bernie Nolan battled cancer. Bernie died of breast cancer in 2013 at the age of 52.

A Star-Studded Lineup and Emotional Performances

The sisters will perform some of their best-known hits, including the disco classic "I'm In The Mood For Dancing" and "Gotta Pull Myself Together." They will also perform "Tell Me It's Not True" from the musical Blood Brothers. Notably, Maureen, Denise, Bernie, and Linda all appeared in the show in London's West End, earning them a Guinness World Record.

The concert will feature other notable performers, including Layton Williams, Hayley Tamaddon, Janette Manrara, Dr Ranj, Sam Bailey, Zoe Tyler, and Rustie Lee. Matthew Croke, son of Bev Croke and star of The Voice UK, will co-produce the event.

Statements from the Sisters

Anne Nolan said: "This will be my first time performing Tell Me It’s Not True, which makes it incredibly emotional for me. To sing it with Denise and Maureen and to know that Bernie and Linda once performed it too will be such a powerful moment for us as sisters."

Denise Nolan shared: "I’ve never sung I’m In The Mood For Dancing before, so to finally perform it alongside my sisters and for such a meaningful reason feels very special. Cancer has touched our family in the most devastating way, so being able to use our voices to raise money for others going through it means the world to us."

Additional Appearances

A week later, on October 11th, The Nolans will appear at the Talking Pictures Festival of Film & TV Roadshow at the Hebden Bridge Picture House. They will participate in a Q&A session reflecting on their 50-year career.
