Selma Blair Praises Son Arthur's Support Amidst MS Battle

Selma Blair, the 53-year-old star of Legally Blonde, shared an exclusive insight into her personal life at the 2025 Forbes Power Women’s Summit. She revealed how her 14-year-old son, Arthur Bleick, provides significant support as she manages her multiple sclerosis (MS).

Arthur's Supportive Role

Blair, who shares Arthur with her ex-boyfriend, fashion designer Jason Bleick, expressed immense gratitude for her son. "I'm really in awe of how brave and wonderful he is, and he takes great care of me, too, when at times I need it," she stated. She emphasized the importance of Arthur’s presence and care in her life, especially given her health challenges.

Living with MS and Raising Arthur

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018, Selma Blair has been open about the realities of managing the disease while maintaining a career and raising her son as a single mother. She previously discussed with Today how her diagnosis impacted her life, particularly concerning fatigue.

"I think since I had him I’d been afflicted with MS, and I didn’t know [because] I was diagnosed later," the Cruel Intentions star began. "My fatigue was always the main issue and as any parent knows, especially a single parent, there’s no room for extra fatigue."

She admitted to constantly seeking advice and strategies for coping with the demands of parenthood, particularly the challenges posed by her condition. Blair highlighted the need to connect with others and ask, "How do you do this?"

Mutual Pride and Purpose

Arthur is openly proud of his mother's strength, and Blair explains that he provides her with a sense of purpose to live a full life despite her illness. "This is it. The only life we get," she said. "My disease isn't a tragedy, but I tell myself, 'You're going to live in a way that would be an example for yourself and your son.'"

In a 2021 video, Arthur humorously mentioned that he likes that his mom is "so kind and liking. Not loving, liking," and that she gives him Call of Duty points. Despite his age, Selma Blair noted that Arthur acts older than his years, stating, "you would think he's 17" based on his behavior.

Simkhai Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear: Coastal Inspiration and Joyful Design

Jonathan Simkhai’s Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection aims to uplift spirits amidst challenging times by embracing a beachy, coastal aesthetic. The collection, inspired by California’s easygoing lifestyle, seeks to inject joy and ease into its pieces.

Coastal Inspiration and Retro Appeal

Drawing inspiration from memories of family beach trips and the 2005 film Lords of Dogtown, Simkhai infused his collection with a summery spirit. The collection incorporated elements of shimmer, like shimmering sequins resembling fish scales on mini dresses, alongside swimwear silhouettes reworked in cozy cable knits and Guipuire lace summer dresses.

Simkhai also drew from vintage references, inspired by thrifting at the Rose Bowl. He aimed to inject his staples with a sense of retro appeal, creating pieces that felt polished yet undone, "almost like they were washed up ashore." Distressed denims and crinkled-leather shirts reflected this theme.

Accessories and Mood-Lifting Design

Accessories in the collection matched the vacation spirit, featuring structured leather net bags and sculptural wedge flip-flops. These designs evoke the feeling of a tropical getaway. Simkhai emphasized his intention to use fashion as a form of mood-lifting: "As a fashion designer, I'm not a doctor or a politician—but I can make people feel good, and give them armor to take on the day."

Notable Attendees at the Simkhai SS26 Post-Show Dinner

The Simkhai Spring 2026 collection reveal was followed by a post-show dinner attended by notable figures including Abby Champion, Antoni Porowski, and Taraji P. Henson. The dinner celebrated the collection's debut during NYFW.
