No Kings Protests Against Trump Administration Planned in Mississippi This October

A new wave of No Kings protests targeting the administration of President Donald Trump is scheduled to take place across Mississippi this fall. The protests, organized in response to various Trump administration policies, aim to voice opposition and advocate for change.

Background and Previous Protests

Throughout 2025, various groups, including the 50501 organization, have organized protests at the Mississippi State Capitol Building and other locations in Mississippi. These demonstrations have occurred on significant dates such as February 5th, President's Day (February 17th), March 4th, April 5th, April 19th, Memorial Day weekend (May 24th), D-Day (June 6th), Trump's 79th birthday (June 14th), and Labor Day weekend.

Previous No Kings protests, held on June 14th, were organized nationwide in collaboration with over 140 national and local groups, including 50501, the Women's March, and the ACLU.

Reasons for the October Protests

Organizers state that the No Kings protests are a response to several Trump administration policies, including changes to immigration enforcement and increased ICE raids, election changes like the order to redistrict Texas election maps, what they perceive as "ignoring mass shootings," and tariff policies impacting the cost of living.

"The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty," the event website reads.
