FACTORYVILLE, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed an officer in the face, then threatened to kill him.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on October 1, around 6:00 p.m., officers from the Dalton Boro Police Department were dispatched to College Avenue in Factoryville for a reported domestic dispute.
While investigating, PSP stated Devan M. Fenton, 37, attacked an officer with a kitchen knife, resulting in several stab wounds to his face, arms, and hands.

Police say Fenton was trying to disarm the officer while stating, “I’m going to kill you.”
A Dalton police officer is recovering after being stabbed while responding to a 911 call Wednesday evening in Wyoming County.

Dalton Police Officer Ricky Stevens responded to a 911 call Wednesday night in Factoryville and, according to court papers, he was stabbed with a steak knife.
Officer Stevens responded to an apartment building on College Avenue in Factoryville around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, after a woman called 911 saying her ex-boyfriend threatened to “Shoot her in the face”.

Police say the two had been broken up but were still living together.
According to the complaint, after Officer Stevens arrived, the boyfriend, identified as Devan Fenton, had grabbed a steak knife and held it up to his own throat.
Stevens had a wound that went completely through his left hand and several cuts on his face and arms.
Officer Stevens said that, during the attack, Fenton noted multiple times, “I’m going to kill you.”
A second 911 call was made, and state police arrived on the scene.
Troopers tell us that there is no one-size-fits-all training for domestic incidents.
“Every situation is different. We handle every incident as we see fit, and we go from there,” said trooper William Evans, public information officer, troop P Wilkes-Barre.

Troopers arrested Fenton and say he apologized several times about what he did.
Fenton also told state police that he is an innocent person, but that he had done it openly, according to the complaint.
28/22 News spoke with an officer at the Dalton Borough Police Department, who told us that Officer Stevens is recovering at his home.
Charges filed against Fenton are as follows:
Attempted murder of a law enforcement officer
Aggravated assault
Simple assault
Disarming a law enforcement officer
Terroristic threats
Harassment
