Cris Collinsworth's Sons: Austin and Jac
Beyond his broadcasting career, Cris Collinsworth is the father of two sons, Austin and Jac Collinsworth, who have both achieved success in their respective fields. Cris and his wife, Holly Collinsworth, also have two daughters. Both sons recognize their father’s significant influence on their lives.
“It’s hard to find people you can trust and follow as a leader without any fear of being misled, but he has kind of been that for my entire life without fail,” Austin said.
Austin Collinsworth: From Notre Dame to Pro Football Focus
Austin Collinsworth, born on December 24, 1991, followed in his father’s footsteps as an athlete, playing safety for the University of Notre Dame. He served as team captain during his senior year and earned Academic All-American honors. Injuries unfortunately cut his football career short.
Austin graduated with a degree in finance from Notre Dame in 2014 and later earned an MBA. He is currently the chief operating officer of Pro Football Focus, a sports analytics company, a position he has held since December 2020.
Jac Collinsworth: A Rising Broadcaster
Jac Collinsworth, born on February 13, 1995, pursued a career in sports broadcasting, mirroring his father's path. He played varsity basketball and football at Highlands High School, where Cris Collinsworth coached as a wide receivers coach.
Jac also attended the University of Notre Dame, earning a degree in film, television, and theatre in 2017. He gained early broadcasting experience during his time there. He has worked for ESPN and NBC Sports, covering major sporting events. Jac currently works for NBC Sports.
“There's always going to be chitter-chatter,” Jac told NFL.com in December 2017. “At the end of the day, if the work stinks, I'm going to be gone. If it is good, I'll be around. The only thing I care about is making the product good.”
The Collinsworth Legacy
From Cris Collinsworth's NFL career to his broadcasting success, and the accomplishments of his sons, Austin and Jac, the Collinsworth family has made a lasting impact on the world of sports. From playing fields to broadcast booths, the legacy continues.
