Undefeated Perdomo Dominates Adams in BKFC 80 Rematch; Romero Shines in Debut

BKFC 80: Perdomo Dominates Adams, Plazaola Earns Title Shot, and Romero Debuts Victoriously

BKFC 80 delivered a night of thrilling bare-knuckle action from the sold-out Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL. The event saw Leonardo “El Zambo” Perdomo extend his winning streak, Edgard “The Dream Killer” Plazaola secure a title shot, and Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero make a successful BKFC debut. This event highlighted the growing popularity of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Perdomo Crushes Adams in Heavyweight Rematch

Leonardo Perdomo continued his reign of terror in the heavyweight division, dispatching two-time BKFC Heavyweight Champion Arnold “Bomaye” Adams in a stunning first-round TKO. The fight, a rematch of their BKFC 78 encounter, ended in just 69 seconds after Perdomo dropped Adams twice. Perdomo has now achieved nine straight, first-round finishes, a BKFC record.

In his post-fight interview, Perdomo expressed gratitude: “Two years ago I (came to this country) with no shoes. I worked hard … I’ve got to thank all of you — you made me who I am. You supported me throughout my career, and we’re on the brink of accomplishing something very special! Thank you, Miami, and thank you, God!” Adams now holds a 7-5 record in BKFC.

Plazaola Dominates Fox, Calls Out Stewart

In the co-main event, Edgard “The Dream Killer” Plazaola solidified his position as the No. 1 contender in the featherweight division with a unanimous decision victory over BKFC United Kingdom Featherweight Champion Gary Fox. Plazaola dropped Fox in the third round and won the fight with scores of 50-44x2, 50-43. He is now 6-0 in BKFC.

Plazaola immediately called out BKFC World Featherweight Champion “King” Kai Stewart: “Kai Stewart, give me my belt! Gold is the only thing on my mind, and I’m ready for the challenge.” Fox's record now stands at 4-3. A fight between Plazaola and Stewart seems inevitable.

Romero Victorious in BKFC Debut

Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero made a successful transition to bare-knuckle fighting, defeating Theo Doukas via TKO in the second round. The former UFC title challenger dropped Doukas three times, securing the victory with just four seconds left in the round. This marks a promising start for the Cuban-born Coconut Creek, FL product's BKFC career.

Feldman's Post-Event Highlights

BKFC Founder/President David Feldman highlighted the success of the event: “Another great night here at the Hard Rock... This was a phenomenal event. This was either our 13th or 12th straight sellout here... This is the fastest growing combat sport in the world, and we’re very proud that we’re just growing bigger and bigger with every event."

Regarding Perdomo's future: “I think he’s definitely next in line for a title shot... we do have an opportunity for him to change his life in the tournament we’re launching (The World’s Baddest Man Tournament) in April..." He also stated that Plazaola's next fight is for a championship.
