The family reportedly attempted to escape the fire, which blocked their efforts after consuming the first floor and eventually burned them to death.

The victims of the blaze include at least three children, according to the AP and Thai PBS World.

They have been identified as grandmother Ladda Polsiri, 57, her daughter Nan Polsiri, 29, son Sarawut Polsiri, 32, his wife Sararat Polsiri, 29, and their three children Face, 2, Ikkyu, 2, and Honey, 1.

Neighbors called for help around 2:30 a.m. local time after hearing members of the family plead for help.

Footage from the scene showed neighbors’ efforts to put out the fire using bowls of water.

The fire eventually spread to four other houses before it was extinguished after about 30 minutes, according to the AP.

The buildings were all destroyed before the fire was put out, Thai PBS World reported.

Afterward, some of the victims' bodies reportedly were found lying in a second-floor doorway.
