Students Develop Bot Tool to Identify Youth Anxiety and Depression on Social Media

Being caught up in conflicts at work is stressful. Why do these disagreements flare up? Conflicts often arise from making assumptions about others and firmly holding to initial impressions of people. In his latest askST Jobs column, correspondent Tay Hong Yi shares tips on what you can do to de-escalate such situations.

Speaking of stress, a new tool aims to identify young people struggling with anxiety and depression. Developed by university students, the tool uses bots to comb through posts on online platforms such as Discord and Reddit. When a user posts about feeling sad or anxious, someone from the Singapore Association for Mental Health will be alerted to reach out privately.
