Australia Defends Chamberlain Trophy, Secures Second Consecutive Motocross of Nations Title

Team Australia Dominates 2025 Motocross of Nations for Second Consecutive Title

Team Australia secured its second consecutive Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) title at Ironman Raceway in Indiana, showcasing a dominant performance. The Lawrence brothers, Jett and Hunter, led the charge, winning all three motos on Sunday, while Kyle Webster's resilience after a first-turn crash proved vital for the team's overall score.

Unstoppable Lawrence Brothers and Webster's Vital Contribution

The Honda-mounted trio of Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence, and Kyle Webster delivered a composed team performance to retain the Chamberlain Trophy. Hunter Lawrence expressed his pride, stating, "I’m at a loss for words right now...Australia – we did it again." He also acknowledged Kyle's dedication and Jett's impressive first moto. Webster's gritty performance, recovering from crashes in both Race 1 and Race 2, earned valuable points for Team Australia.

Jett Lawrence set the tone with a dominant win in the opening MXGP/MX2 moto, followed by Hunter Lawrence's victories in both the Open/MX2 and MXGP/Open races. Despite early mishaps, Jett fought through the field in the final moto to secure a podium finish. Hunter and Jett also claimed individual honors in their respective classes, with Webster finishing fifth overall in MX2.

Team USA and France Round Out the Podium

Team USA finished as runner-up on home soil, with Eli Tomac leading the charge with consistent rides (4-2). However, the efforts of Justin Cooper and RJ Hampshire weren't enough to challenge the dominant Australians. Team France, led by Maxime Renaux, Romain Febvre, and Mathis Valin, secured the final podium spot with a solid team effort, edging out Belgium and Slovenia.

While Team Australia celebrated their victory, other riders showcased individual brilliance. Kay de Wolf of Team Netherlands claimed the individual MX2 victory for the second consecutive year. Jan Pancar of Slovenia delivered a breakout performance, finishing third in Race 2, contributing to Slovenia's best-ever result of fifth overall. Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle hailed the result as "another milestone moment for Australian motocross," reflecting the talent and professionalism of everyone involved.
