A man has died after being shot in Vancouver's Strathcona neighbourhood early Tuesday morning. Vancouver Police Department (VPD) officers responded to a call near Main and Union Street around 7:00 a.m. on September 30th, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Details of the Incident

According to police reports, the victim was immediately transported to a local hospital. Despite medical intervention, the man was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The VPD's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.

The area near the Georgia Viaduct and Pacific Central Station was cordoned off as investigators gathered evidence throughout the day. Police are asking the public to avoid the area if possible.
