Man Arrested for Driving Barbie Jeep to Get Slurpee in Canada

A man identified as Kasper Lincoln was arrested in Prince George, British Columbia, after police stopped him driving a child-sized Barbie Jeep on a main road. His stated intention was to get a Slurpee, leading to charges including driving under the influence.

The Slurpee Run Gone Wrong

According to CBC News, Lincoln told police he "got lazy and didn’t want to walk" with a friend to get a Slurpee. He said he borrowed the Jeep from his roommate's child. Witnesses expressed surprise at the arrest, as captured in a video recorded by Summer Caron, who questioned whether the arrest was justified for driving a kid's toy.

Andrea Stirguard, another witness, described seeing Lincoln "living his best life" and seeming "happy as a clam." However, the police stop revealed more than just an unusual vehicle choice.

License Suspension and Impairment

Police discovered that Lincoln had a suspended license. Furthermore, he reportedly blew over the legal alcohol limit twice during a breathalyzer test, leading to a driving-under-the-influence charge. Lincoln claims he was unaware that driving the Barbie Jeep was against the law, despite being on a main road, specifically 15th Avenue.

"I never drove it before," - Kasper Lincoln, as reported by CBC News.

Legal Implications and Community Reaction

Lincoln intends to fight the ticket he received and maintains that he was using hand signals while operating the vehicle. The incident has gained significant attention on social media. Kyra Lee, a lawyer not involved in the case, stated to CBC that "you are required to have a driver’s license in British Columbia if you’re operating any motorized vehicle on the roadway… That includes Barbie cars, toy cars, electric skateboards."

Despite the situation, Lincoln remains in good spirits. He commended the arresting officer's professionalism, noting, "This is my first time!" In closing, he offered some cautionary advice: "Don't drink and drive."
