'High Potential' Season 2: Episode Release Schedule, Cast Updates, and More

The dramedy 'High Potential', starring Kaitlin Olson, has returned for its second season. After a successful first season in September 2024, ABC renewed the series in January 2025. Season 2 promises more quirky crime-solving and personal drama. Here's everything you need to know about the release schedule, cast additions, and plot teases.

When Does 'High Potential' Season 2 Premiere?

'High Potential' season 2 premiered on September 16, 2025, continuing the story of Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), a genius-level cleaner who assists the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) with investigations.

What to Expect in Season 2

Season 1 ended with cliffhangers involving a serial killer called the Game Maker and the reveal that Morgan’s ex-husband, Roman, is alive. Showrunner Todd Harthan assured viewers that season 2 will address these plot points early on. “We have a pretty healthy plan for how we’re going to kick off the season,” he stated in a February 2025 interview with The Wrap.

"The promise in Season 2 is to answer some other big questions but also deepen the mystery before we really unpack too much or introduce somebody too soon." - Todd Harthan, Showrunner

Episode Count and Expanded Character Focus

High Potential season 2 consists of 18 episodes, an increase from the first season's 13. This allows for a deeper exploration of the supporting characters. Kaitlin Olson expressed her desire to focus on the other characters, telling Deadline in June 2025, "I think it’s important to dive deeper into the other characters on the show."

'High Potential' Season 2 Episode Release Schedule

Here's the confirmed release schedule for the first three episodes of 'High Potential' season 2:

  • Sept. 16: Episode 1, "Pawns"
  • Sept. 23: Episode 2, "Checkmate"
  • Sept. 30: Episode 3, "Eleven Minutes"

Season 2 introduces new faces to the cast.
