Released in theaters on July 11th by Warner Bros., "Superman" quickly became a box office hit, earning $615 million worldwide. The film topped the domestic box office with $125 million in its opening weekend and held the No. 1 spot for two weeks before being overtaken by Marvel's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps." Now, audiences can experience the film from the comfort of their homes.
A New Dawn for the DC Universe
"Superman" is the inaugural film for Warner Bros.’ rebooted DC Universe, spearheaded by James Gunn and producer Peter Safran at DC Studios. Their vision includes interconnected films and series based on DC's vast comic book library. This reboot aims to build a more cohesive and successful cinematic universe, following the dormancy of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) after "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" in 2023.

"Superman" features a stellar cast, with David Corenswet taking on the role of the titular hero and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Other notable cast members include Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific. The film also includes appearances by Milly Alcock as Supergirl and John Cena as Peacemaker, the sole character carried over from the DCEU.
