Browns Activate Rookie RB Quinshon Judkins for Ravens Game Following Charge Dismissal

Browns Activate Rookie RB Quinshon Judkins Ahead of Ravens Matchup

The Cleveland Browns have activated rookie running back Quinshon Judkins for their Week 2 road game against the Baltimore Ravens. This move comes after a period of uncertainty surrounding Judkins' availability due to off-field issues.

Judkins' Return and Background

Quinshon Judkins, selected 36th overall in the draft, returned to practice this week after being away from the team since mandatory minicamp in June. He had been unsigned following his arrest on a misdemeanor domestic violence and battery charge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 12. However, prosecutors declined to pursue the charge on August 14.

Despite being listed as questionable, Coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that Judkins had met the team's expectations, stating he has "done everything we've asked him to do up to this point." The Browns signed Judkins to a fully guaranteed four-year, $11.4 million deal last Saturday.

While Judkins' situation remains under league review, he was not placed on the commissioner exempt list and is eligible to play Sunday. He reportedly met with the NFL in New York on Wednesday.

Impact on the Browns' Running Game

Judkins' return could provide a much-needed boost to the Browns' running game, which struggled in their season-opening loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The team only managed 49 rushing yards, averaging 2 yards per carry. Judkins' presence could offer a more dynamic option in the backfield.

Larvadain Waived, Potential Practice Squad Return

To make room for Judkins on the active roster, the Browns waived receiver Gage Larvadain. However, reports indicate that the Browns intend to re-sign Larvadain to their practice squad if he clears waivers. This move suggests that the team values Larvadain's potential and wants to continue his development within the organization.

According to Browns insider Brad Stainbrook, assuming Larvadain lands back on the Browns' practice squad is a pretty safe bet. The Browns have built a relationship with the player and his agent.
