Jones, a native of Rochester, New York, was selected by the Ravens in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft after playing college football at Syracuse University. Over four seasons in Baltimore, he recorded 120 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, and 22 quarterback hits. He played a key role in the Ravens’ victory in Super Bowl XLVII, contributing a sack and a fumble recovery in the team’s 34-31 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Following his tenure in Baltimore, Jones joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2014, appearing in 17 games with 11 starts over three seasons. He totaled 53 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and four tackles for loss with the Colts and appeared in all three of the team’s 2014 postseason games, collecting 11 tackles and a quarterback hit. Jones later played briefly for Washington in 2017 before retiring from the NFL.
Jones was the older brother of former NFL Pro Bowl pass rusher Chandler Jones and UFC champion Jon “Bones” Jones. Tributes have poured in from across the sports world, remembering Arthur Jones as both a formidable player and a respected teammate.
