At some point, MSHP said that the Acura crossed the center of the road while approaching a curve, causing the vehicle to strike the front right of the Honda.

According to MSHP, the impact of the crash caused the Acura to travel off the north road edge of the road and hit several trees, causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the Acura, a 36-year-old man from Bismarck, Mo., was pronounced dead at the scene, MSHP said. The driver of the Honda did not sustain an injury during the crash.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to MSHP.
