Westmeath writer and broadcaster Manchán Magan, known and celebrated for his love of Irish and global indigenous cultures, has passed away.
The Collinstown man has died at the age of 55 following a terminal prostate cancer diagnosis in 2023.
Mr Magan is renowned for his acclaimed documentaries over the last 30 years including the 90s series, No Béarla.
The documentary maker had a 24 venue tour celebrating the Irish language through the medium of baking sourdough bread on stage which was cancelled following his diagnosis.

The Taoiseach is leading tributes for Westmeath broadcaster and writer Manchán Magan.
He's died at the age of 55 - he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2023.
He was passionate advocate for the Irish language and nature.
Westmeath historian Jason McKevitt met Manchán on numerous occasions and describes him as poetic.
