Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather agreed to an exhibition fight in the Spring of 2026
Date, time and location of the fight have not been announced.
Both Tyson and Mayweather have Ohio connections, with Tyson once owning a mansion in northeast Ohio.
Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to compete in an exhibition bout slated to happen in 2026.
Tyson, 59, announced the news on social media on Sept. 4, 2025, according to USA TODAY. This news comes nearly a year after his loss to Jake Paul in a November 2024 exhibition bout.
"I still can't believe Floyd wants to really do this," Tyson said in a news release. "It's going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it's signed and it's happening!"
In the same release, Mayweather, 48, touts his career highs. "I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” said Mayweather. "I’m the best in the business of boxing."

According to the news release, the fight is slated for Spring 2026, but additional details such as the date, time and location have not yet been announced.

Tyson's Ohio roots extend to his managerial team. Cleveland native Don King was the heavyweight's promoter during the height of his professional career. Tyson purchased his mansion to live closer to King's training camp in Orwell, Ohio.
Floyd Mayweather's national gym franchise, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, touted a Cincinnati location in Hyde Park, according to the gym's website. However, the list of U.S. locations does not currently include any Ohio gyms. The closest locations are in Pittsburgh and Michigan.
