Janet Jackson and niece Paris Jackson—the daughter of Janet’s brother Michael Jackson—had a rare family reunion at Paris Fashion Week on October 1.
The two women shared a warm embrace at the Tom Ford show on Wednesday.
The pair then walked into the show at the Pavillon Vendôme together, firmly squashing any old rumors of a squabble between the two.

Both women wore black for the show, Janet in a floor-length silk black skirt and a structured leather short-sleeve top that was belted at the waist. She also donned a leather blazer at some points of the day, patent leather pointed-toe shoes, and gold statement hoops. Paris, for her part, wore a long-sleeved, high-neck black floor-length gown with a high leg slit, which she paired with black patent leather heels. The two women embraced warmly as they appeared engaged in conversation. Paris is the daughter of Michael Jackson; Janet is Michael’s younger sister.
Janet’s outing in Paris comes not long after another surprise appearance, this one in Reading, England in July, where she watched her brothers Jackie and Marlon perform as The Jacksons alongside her rarely seen son Eissa, 8. At one point in the show, the brothers brought Janet onstage for a quick hello.

The reunion between Janet and Paris on Wednesday follows the two reuniting at Paris Fashion Week three years ago, connecting at a party in the City of Light in 2022. “So good catching up w/ my beautiful niece @parisjackson 💖💖💖,” Janet wrote at the time.
That reunion in 2022 came four years after Paris addressed the public after she skipped Janet’s Billboard Music Icon Award induction in 2018: “Dear social media followers, friends, stalkers, lovers and haters, and fellow moonwalkers: Please do not tell me/demands/try to control how I handle my relationship with the people in my life, specifically my family,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, adding that her family’s goings ons are “no one’s business but ours.”
“I will always have love and respect for my family. ALWAYS,” she continued before adding that “Every family has their moments of trauma, heartbreak, separation, love, oneness, tribe, pain, everything. EVERY FAMILY. My family, specifically, and a good number of others…well, our drama is broadcasted worldwide through media. But that doesn’t mean our family issues are any different from yours. Ours are just made public.”
