First Alert Forecast: Heat and Spotty Showers to Close Out Summer
As the final week of summer approaches, the Memphis area can expect a mix of sunshine, clouds, and spotty downpours. According to Action News 5, summery heat will persist throughout the week, with a chance of scattered showers.
Monday Weather Details
Monday will start with a mix of clouds and sun, with a chance of spotty downpours, particularly in the morning and late afternoon/early evening. High temperatures are expected to reach the lower to middle 90s. Rain chances will decrease after sunset, with lows falling into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Tuesday's Brief Relief
A high-pressure system will briefly move into the region on Tuesday, minimizing rain chances and bringing back the summer heat. Expect mostly to partly sunny skies with highs in the lower to middle 90s, following morning temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The night will be quiet and clear with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Extended Weather Outlook
Dry weather is anticipated to continue through Wednesday. However, as the high-pressure ridge weakens, increased cloud cover and scattered rain chances are expected later in the week. Temperatures will gradually decrease from the 90s towards the upper 80s to near 90 by the weekend, signaling the end of the summer season.
