Eagles Star Cooper DeJean Doubts Taylor Swift's Loyalty After Travis Kelce Engagement, Preps for Chiefs Rematch

Cooper DeJean Weighs In on Taylor Swift's Allegiance Amid Travis Kelce Engagement

As the 2025 NFL season kicks off, all eyes are on Taylor Swift and her team loyalty following her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. Philadelphia Eagles rookie, Cooper DeJean, shared his thoughts on the matter, while also reflecting on his experiences in the NFL.

Swift's Allegiance: From Eagles Fan to Chiefs Supporter?

Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine from his Center City apartment, DeJean, a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, believes Swift's allegiance has shifted. "Yeah, I think it's done now," DeJean stated. "I think wherever Travis is at, that's who she's going to be a fan of, which makes sense, I guess." Swift, a former Eagles fan, recently announced her engagement to Kelce.

Kelce Engagement Details

Swift and Kelce, both 35, announced their engagement on August 26th via Instagram. The post, featuring photos of the couple in a garden, was captioned, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨." Swift's song "So High School" from The Tortured Poets Department, believed to be written for Kelce, played in the background.

DeJean on Jason Kelce

During the interview with PEOPLE, DeJean also discussed Travis Kelce's older brother, Jason Kelce, a former Eagle. DeJean hosted Jason Kelce on his podcast, Exciting Mics, alongside teammate Reed Blankenship, in August. "It was cool to get to talk to him and hear what he had to say. I learned a lot from him. He won [a] Super Bowl, obviously, here."

DeJean's Center City Apartment and Podcast Studio

DeJean also shared details about his Center City apartment, highlighting its natural lighting and views of the Delaware River. "It's got nice views. Just hang out. You can walk anywhere in the city from my place. It makes it easy to go get food or do whatever you want from living right there in Center City." His in-apartment studio for Exciting Mics pays tribute to the City of Brotherly Love and his time with the Eagles, featuring a kelly green jersey that reads "DeJawn."

Swift's Attendance at Chiefs Games

Taylor Swift has become a familiar face at Kansas City Chiefs games since she and Travis Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023. However, she did not attend the Chiefs' first game against the Los Angeles Chargers. There is speculation that she will attend the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, as it is the Chiefs' home opener and involves Jason Kelce's former team. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 14th.
