Two Killed in Mapleton Collision Involving Farm Tractor
A tragic two-vehicle collision in Mapleton, Ontario, has claimed the lives of two Drayton residents. The incident, which occurred on Friday, October 3, 2025, involved a farm tractor and a pick-up truck. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Details of the Collision
At approximately 9:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a report of a collision on Eighth Line in Mapleton. The collision involved a farm tractor and a pick-up truck. OPP, local fire services, and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene.
Tragically, both occupants of the pick-up truck, identified as a 32-year-old male and a 39-year-old female from Drayton, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the farm tractor was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Investigation and Road Closure
Eighth Line was closed between Sideroad 19 and Sideroad 17 for several hours while police investigated. The road has since been reopened. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from Traffic Incident Management Enforcement, Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams.
