If you didn't preorder a copy of Taylor Swift's new "The Life of a Showgirl" album, Target is giving Iowa shoppers a chance to grab one right at midnight on Oct. 3.
Eight Target stores in Iowa, including one in West Des Moines, will be open late for a special midnight release, the retailer said. Fans will need to be prepared to stand in line for several hours, with tickets for the albums being distributed starting at 10 p.m. Oct. 2.
"Swifties, this one’s for you," Target said in a news release. "Because shopping for an album at Target isn’t just about getting the music — it’s about the anticipation, the connection, and the shared joy that comes with each release."

In a statement, Cassandra Jones, senior VP of merchandising for Target, said "every album release is a chance to celebrate with our guests."
"Taylor Swift’s 'The Life of a Showgirl' is already the year’s biggest music moment, and we’re giving fans even more reasons to get excited," Jones said. "From exclusive vinyl and CD editions available only at Target to midnight releases and curated music experiences in our stores, we’re proud to be a destination where fans can discover, connect and take home something truly special."

Target's exclusive “The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd Is Your King” is a "Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer Vinyl" featuring an opaque pink and pale-yellow pearlescent vinyl with gold shimmer and a collectible custom gatefold sleeve.
Target, Swift's long-time collaborator, will be stocking four exclusive products in-stores along with Swift's entire discography. Target's exclusive "The Life of a Showgirl" products include:

"The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd Is Your King" edition: The exclusive "Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer Vinyl" for $34.99 features an opaque pink and pale-yellow pearlescent vinyl with gold shimmer, a collectible custom gatefold sleeve, a giant double-sided poster, a poem written by Taylor herself and never-before-seen photos and album lyrics.

Target will also carry "The Life of a Showgirl: Sweat and Vanilla Perfume" CD with poster, which will only be available to purchase online at Target.com.

How will Target's Taylor Swift release sale work?
Here’s what Target wants you to know about shopping in-store for the album release:
Target team members will distribute physical or digital tickets in the electronics section of the participating store at 10 p.m. local time on Oct. 2 that will reserve your product for purchase. Once you have your ticket, you can continue shopping in the store and return to the designated queuing location at 11:45 p.m. local time to make your purchase at midnight.
Ticketing will take place until all tickets are claimed or 10 minutes before midnight.
Due to high demand and limited quantity, each guest can purchase up to four items only.
Target said the full "The Life of a Showgirl" assortment will be available for purchase while supplies last, beginning early morning Oct. 3 on the store's website and in Target stores when they open.
