Celebrate Heritage Day at the Big Save World Record Braai Day
This Heritage Day, September 24th, South Africans are invited to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria for the Big Save World Record Braai Day, a historic celebration of food, culture, music, and community. The event aims to set a new world record for the most people braaiing simultaneously.
A World Record Attempt in the Making
The heart of the celebration is the world record attempt. A total of 2,500 participants will gather around pre-lit braai stations from 9 am to 12 pm, ready to cook and create history. The event's highlight will be a synchronized five-minute braai blitz at 10 am, where everyone aims to participate in the largest public braai ever held in South Africa.
White Star, renowned for its classic pap, is the official pap partner of the event. Each braaier will receive a portion of tasty wors, a portion of White Star pap, a branded apron as a keepsake, and their own pair of tongs to take home.
Music, Food, and Festival Fun
Following the record attempt, the festivities continue with the Festival Fun from 12 pm to 8 pm. Visitors can enjoy live performances from acclaimed South African artists such as Mi Casa, GoodLuck, and Booshle G.
- An adults-only beer garden (18+ with ID checks) offers a relaxed space.
- Food trucks and beverage vendors provide a variety of delights.
- Chill zones accommodate families seeking entertainment and relaxation.
