Tony Hale, Dianne Wiest, and Lois Smith Join 'Elsbeth' Season 3 as Guest Stars
The CBS dramedy 'Elsbeth' is adding three renowned actors to its Season 3 guest star roster: Tony Hale (Veep, Arrested Development), Dianne Wiest (In Treatment, Parenthood), and Lois Smith (Ladybird, Twister). The new season premieres Sunday, October 12 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/9:00-10:00 PM, PT) on CBS and Paramount+.
Guest Star Roles Revealed
Tony Hale will portray Craig Hollis, a paranoid FinTech CEO, in episode 6. Hollis constructs a safe room due to anxieties about wealth. Dianne Wiest takes on the role of Reverend Mother Constance Mary Cabot in episode 7, striving to protect her convent from a disruptive pop star. Lois Smith will appear in episode 5 as Delores Feinn, a benefactor of the Pidgeon Press poetry journal, alongside William Jackson Harper.
Returning and New Faces
Sarah Steele, known for her role as Marissa Gold in The Good Wife and The Good Fight, will reprise her character in an upcoming episode. Other previously announced guest stars include Stephen Colbert as Scotty Bristol, a late-night host, and Andy Richter as Mickey Muntz, his sidekick. Amy Sedaris will play Laurel Hammond-Muntz, the head writer of the show. Lindsay Mendez is set to appear in the premiere as Officer Grace Hackett.
'Elsbeth' Season 3 Details
The series, based on a character from The Good Wife and The Good Fight, stars Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni. She is an unconventional attorney working with the NYPD. Wendell Pierce continues as Captain Charles Wallace, a series regular since Season 1. Carra Patterson, who played Kaya Blanke, will appear as a guest star in Season 3.
