Stamford Restoration Business Thrives After Overcoming Devastating Fire
A Stamford-based framing and restoration business is not just back on its feet but flourishing after a fire nearly destroyed everything. Owners Ana Maria and Alain Bars have shown remarkable resilience in rebuilding their business and serving their community.
Rescuing Artwork and Rebuilding Dreams
The primary focus for Ana Maria and Alain Bars was salvaging their customers' precious artwork, despite losing approximately 90% of their inventory in the blaze. This commitment underscores their dedication to their clients and the art they cherish.
Within two months, they managed to reopen at a temporary location around the corner at 96 Bedford St. While the original space is undergoing reconstruction, estimated to take up to two years, the business is operational and serving the community.
A Community Hub for Art and Connection
With their expanded space, Ana Maria and Alain Bars have introduced an art gallery showcasing both local and international artists. This addition not only enhances their business but also strengthens their role as a vital part of the Stamford community.
"When people come to a place like this, they communicate with each other they don't know each other but being in this environment they end up really communicating and exchange ideas and opinions. It's a good thing, It's what we want, we want something that will make you react," says Alain Bars.
The couple emphasizes how their store has become a gathering place, fostering connections and conversations through the shared appreciation of art. The community's unwavering support has been instrumental in their recovery, providing encouragement and assistance during this challenging period. The couple expresses their deep gratitude for this support.
