Malcolm-Jamal Warner's Wife, Tenisha, Honors Anniversary with Foundation Launch
Tenisha Warner, the widow of the late actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, has publicly honored their anniversary with a heartfelt announcement. She is launching The Warner Family Foundation and River & Ember in his memory, organizations dedicated to nurturing children's inner light and supporting young artists.
A Heartfelt Tribute
On Friday, Tenisha Warner shared a touching tribute on Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s verified social media account, including a photo from their 2017 wedding. She expressed gratitude for the support received during this difficult time, writing, “Thank you for holding us in so much love during this tender time.” She added, "Tomorrow marks our anniversary—and my heart is wide open. For the first time, I’m sharing a glimpse of the love that began it all."
Launching River & Ember and The Warner Family Foundation
The post revealed the launch of River & Ember and The Warner Family Foundation. Tenisha, along with her daughter (whose name has not been publicly revealed), aims to carry on Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s legacy of supporting children and the arts. River & Ember is described as a resource designed to bring families closer together. "Today, in his honor, my daughter and I are launching River & Ember and officially opening The Warner Family Foundation," the post read.
The Purpose Behind the Initiatives
Tenisha Warner, a doctor of psychology, explained that River & Ember is inspired by her professional experience and her personal journey through grief and love. The company focuses on providing stories and rituals that honor the connection between parents and children. Malcolm-Jamal Warner, according to his wife, "believed deeply in tending not only to the inner light in children, but in ourselves." The foundation seeks to give young artists the freedom to create without limitations.
A Private Life Remembered
Malcolm-Jamal Warner was known for keeping his personal life private. He had never publicly identified his wife, whom he married in 2017, nor shared the name of their daughter. He tragically passed away in July at the age of 54, after drowning in a rip current while on vacation with his family in Costa Rica. His wife concluded her post by saying, "This is love, still moving. Still making. Still carrying us forward."
