Minnesota Water Towers Compete for Prestigious

Votes are being taken now for "Tank of the Year" and no, you can't pick the Minnesota Twins.

Protective coating manufacturer Tnemec Company, Inc. has revealed the full list of nominees for this year's contest, which includes 15 from Minnesota.

They are: Becker, Blaine, Corcoran, Coon Rapids, Forest Lake, Goodhue, Hastings, Lewiston, Lower Sioux, New Hope, New Brighton, Owatonna, Pequot Lakes, St. Paul, and Shakopee.

Minnesota has good form in the competition, which has been running since 2007 and named Moorhead the winner in 2021.

Voting is open between now and 5 p.m. on Oct. 17 for the "people's choice" tank, which will be added to 11 other finalists selected by a "committee of water tank enthusiasts." From those 12, an official "Tank of the Year" is selected.

“This year’s contest is shaping up to be yet another spectacular year for this contest,” commented Kevin Morris, Director of the Water Tank Market at Tnemec. “The number of nominations is indicative of the overall popularity of this contest, as we have received nominations from all over North America."

You can vote for your favorite tank by clicking here. A highly colorful tank in Fargo, North Dakota is currently in second place, per the contest website.
