Hyatt Expands Kuala Lumpur Footprint Amid ASEAN Summit Preparations
As Kuala Lumpur gears up to host the 47th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in late October, Hyatt has significantly expanded its presence in the city. The opening of two new hotels, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, in August brings the total number of Hyatt properties in the federal territory to seven.
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur: Luxury at New Heights
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, located atop the Merdeka 118 skyscraper, aims to cater to the high-end Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) segment. Herman Kemp, general manager of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, emphasized the hotel's focus on providing an "exclusive, elevated experience" for discerning delegates. The hotel features 252 guestrooms and suites situated on levels 100 to 118.
The hotel also includes six residential-style Executive Salons on level 98, offering natural daylight, pre-function areas, and show kitchens. These salons can accommodate between 18 to 170 people in theatre style, depending on the configuration.
Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown: A Hub for Events
The Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, with 306 guestrooms, is strategically located opposite the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre. It offers extensive event facilities across three floors, including 16 event halls and meeting rooms, and a pillarless grand ballroom. The Courtyard on level 4 provides four meeting rooms capable of hosting up to 270 people, complete with an outdoor patio and the option for a full-floor buyout.

Other Hyatt properties in Kuala Lumpur ideal for business delegates include the Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur and Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, both directly connected to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. A Hyatt spokesperson confirmed the company’s commitment to collaborating with Tourism Malaysia and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau on key events and initiatives, including support for the upcoming ASEAN Summit and Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
