Glasgow M8 lorry drops huge piles of wood onto cars in terrifying footage
The M8 and part of the M77 were closed while the load of wood had to be cleared from across the lanes.
This is the terrifying moment a vehicle sheds its load as it spills down from a road bridge - hitting one vehicle and forcing another driver to swerve to avoid a crash.
The incident took place on the M8 near to the M77 and resulted in a stretch of the motorway, near to the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow, being covered in wood.
As wooden beams crash down to the ground they can be seen to hit a small white van on the roof and windscreen, before the vehicle drives over some of them.

The driver of the vehicle with the dashcam swerved to avoid a more serious collision and can be heard to say "Woah! Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, what the f*** happened there?".
He came to a stop on the hard shoulder after the incident, as the song Freight Train Boogie could be heard playing in the background within his vehicle.
We reported last night how emergency services were called to the collision at around 5.30pm yesterday, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at junction 22 eastbound near the M77.

Traffic Scotland had warned of “severe delays on all routes” as the westbound carriageway was partially restricted while the M77 was closed northbound on approach to the M8.
In the clip, the vehicles can be seen moving before a mass of wood landed in the fast lane and bursts across the motorway as oncoming traffic tries to dodge the hazard.
It is currently unclear if anyone was injured during the incident.
