The population and members of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement who were by the road waved at the convoy of the Head of State.
It was not an ordinary experience at the Warda Roundabout in Yaounde in the evening hours of yesterday October 1, 2025. General effervescence filled the air. Everyone was impatient to see the Presidential convoy. People wanted to personally see for themselves and then take the news to the quarters that the Head of State is back in the country and will eventually launch the Presidential campaigns for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) himself. The somehow chilly evening weather and the drops of rain did not discourage the population. They stayed put and rather showed signs of excitement with the return of the Head of State, who is equally the Chairman and Presidential candidate of the CPDM.
"Paul Biya oyeeee, welcome back. You remain our President," one of the bystanders was heard saying in a very loud voice. It was evident the Head of State is warmly welcomed. Members of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement of the Yaounde VI Subdivision turned out in their numbers to hail and chant in honour of the President, whom they said brings the final boost to the campaigns carried out by the party.
All the wings of the party (youth, women and men) showed up at the warda neighborhood and excitedly waved at the convoy of the Head of State. The voices were loudest when the Presidential luminous, on board the first couple of the Republic drove pass. One of them was heard saying the other political parties in the Presidential race will now understand and feel the campaign when their candidate begins public meetings and other persuasion strategies.
Some waved the picture of the Head of State, printed on hand banners with the words; "Paul Biya, My President," in both English and French. In appreciation, the Head of the State, whose window screen was slightly down waved at the chanting population. T...
