Paul McCartney Announces Intimate Phone-Free Santa Barbara Bowl Show Kicking Off

Paul McCartney Announces Phone-Free Show at Santa Barbara Bowl Ahead of 'Got Back' Tour

Sir Paul McCartney will perform a special warm-up concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl on September 26 before embarking on the fall 2025 North American leg of his 'Got Back' tour. This intimate show will be a unique, phone-free experience for fans.

An Intimate Warm-Up Gig

The Santa Barbara Bowl, with a capacity of under 5,000, offers a drastically different setting compared to the stadiums and arenas McCartney typically plays. This performance will be a special opportunity for fans to see the legendary musician in a more intimate environment.

Notably, the concert will be a phone-free experience. Attendees will secure their devices in Yondr pouches upon entry, allowing them to maintain possession of their phones throughout the show, but preventing their use during the performance.

Ticket Information and Registration

Registration for tickets began on September 15th at 8:00 AM local time and ended September 16th at 10:00 PM local time. Tickets are extremely limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to fans randomly selected through Fair AXS Registration. No tickets will be sold at the Santa Barbara Bowl box office. Registration is mandatory to purchase tickets, with a limit of two tickets per customer. Potential buyers are strongly advised to avoid purchasing tickets from third-party vendors to avoid fraudulent tickets and denied entry.

More McCartney News: Wings Documentary and Anthology

In addition to the tour, McCartney has other projects underway, including a documentary and a book about his post-Beatles band, Wings, and a series of projects surrounding the 30th anniversary of the Beatles' Anthology.

The book, "Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run," arrives on November 4 from W.W. Norton, drawing from extensive interviews. The Morgan Neville-directed documentary, "Man on the Run," will be released on Prime Video in February 2026, chronicling McCartney's emergence after the Beatles' breakup.

The Beatles’ Anthology celebration starts in November with restored versions of the original documentary episodes on Disney+, as well as bonus content. An expanded version of the chart-topping Anthology compilations arrives Nov. 21, while The Beatles Anthology book will be back in a 25th anniversary edition on Oct. 14.
